"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:
Solomon's Oak
By Jo-Ann Mapson
Publication Date: October 12
From Amazon:
A year after the untimely death of her husband, Dan, Glory Solomon is adrift, in financial trouble, and unable to find much meaning in a world without her mate. But when she opens a wedding chapel on her historic California ranch (known for its ancient oak tree), she attracts a variety of couples in search of unconventional nuptials--and two lost souls. Juniper McGuire, an angry teenage girl, is still reeling from the tragedy that put her into the foster care system. And a former crime scene photographer, Joseph Vigil, suffers chronic pain from an on-the-job accident. Together, the three grievers form a tentative support system that could--if they'll let it--be called love.

I've never heard of this author before. Solomon's Oak sounds like it would have its sad moments...but quite moving and powerful. A much deeper sounding book than my fluffy WoW pick this week ;-)
Love love love the cover! Would have picked it up just because of that. Sounds like quite a compelling read though - I like it.

This is my first Waiting on Wednesday, and I can't wait for next week! I love the idea behind this meme.
Also, your pick sounds like a very emotional read. Not really in the mood for one at the moment, but I dig the concept and will put in on my TBR pile!
this sounds lovely - great pick!
Sounds like an interesting book. It's definitely not a light read.

It does sound VERY good.
I've been WoW for this Wed and Julia Glass's The Widower's Tale (which I know was a WoW for you, too). I have the most amazing guest post from Julia on my author blog this morning, "The Not Quite Yes" - about her "overnight success." One of the most inspiring posts I've gotten, and I've had posts from many amazing authors. It's at http://megwaiteclayton.com/1stbooks/?p=2007 I just started Widower's Tale and am loving it!
