"Waiting On" Wednesday: South of Superior

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

South of Superior
By Ellen Airgood
Publication Date: June 9

From Amazon:

When Madeline Stone walks away from Chicago and moves 500 miles north to the coast of Lake Superior, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, she isn't prepared for how much her life will change. Charged with caring for an aging family friend, Madeline finds herself in the middle of beautiful nowhere with Gladys and Arbutus, two octogenarian sisters--one sharp and stubborn, the other sweeter than sunshine. As Madeline begins to experience the ways of the small, tight-knit town, she is drawn into the lives and dramas of its residents. It's a place where times are tough and debts run deep, but friendship, community, and compassion run deeper. Gladys, Arbutus, and the rest of the town teach Madeline more about life, love, and goodwill than she's learned in a lifetime.

It kind of reminds me of one of your "beach Pick" books.

I like the sound of your pick. I grew up in a middle-of-nowhere, blink-and-you-miss-it town, so I can definitely relate to small town life and how it can suck you in. Thank you for hosting :)

South of Superior sounds like a great novel! I wouldn't ordinarily have found this since I usually just look for YA books, so I'm glad I read your WoW post :)

This book is not something I'd normally pick up unless someone pointed it out or recommended it. Thanks for sharing! I'm definitely adding it to my wishlist! :)

Sounds like a good one! I'm a small town kind of girl even though I was born into a big city.

I like the sound of this one - I love stories that show the growth of characters thru their relation ships - they're just so real.

Check out what I'm waiting on this week...if you're a fan of Sex and the City, you won't want to miss it...

This looks lovely. We go to the Upper Peninsula every summer (although Lake Huron, not Lake Superior) so I'm sure I will need to get my hands on this one.

What an unusual name Arbutus. This isn't a title I'd normally read, but I'd definitely read reviews of it!

I haven't heard anything about this book. I read mostly YA books, but sometimes I read some Adult books. Mostly paranormal romances/romances. Sounds pretty good, though. :)

Happy reading!
