"Waiting On" Wednesday: Lessons in French

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Lessons in French
By Hilary Reyl
Publication Date: March 5

From Amazon:

It’s 1989, the Berlin Wall is about to come down, and Kate has just graduated from Yale. She is anxious to make her mark, yet has no idea how to pursue life as a fledgling painter. So when she receives a surprising job offer to work as the assistant to Lydia Schell, a famous American photographer in Paris, she immediately accepts. It’s a chance not only to be at the center of it all, but also to return to the city for the first time since she was a lonely nine-year-old girl sent to live with cousins while her father was dying of cancer. Lessons in French is at once a love letter to Paris and the story of a young woman defining herself, and finding her moral compass, in the tall shadow of a powerful boss.

  6. (I deleted my previous comment because of typos.)

You know, I don't usually read historical fiction, but this book does interest me, for two reasons -- I love art and photography, having studied both in college, and I LOVE Paris, which I only know from books and films...but it's always been my dream to go there! So thanks for featuring this novel!! : )

BTW, I messed up when linking to your post, and entered my blog twice...the first link, #25, is to an old post. Darned if I know how that happened! The link to today's post is #27. Just delete #25, and so sorry for the inconvenience! : (
