"Waiting On" Wednesday: Farewell, Dorothy Parker

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Farewell, Dorothy Parker
By Ellen Meister
Publication Date: February 21

From Amazon:

When it comes to movie reviews, critic Violet Epps is a powerhouse voice. But that's only because she's learned to channel her literary hero, Dorothy Parker, the most celebrated and scathing wit of the 20th century. If only Violet could summon that kind of courage in her personal life.

Determined to defeat her social anxiety, Violet visits the Algonquin Hotel to pull strength from the hallowed dining room, where Dorothy Parker and so many other famous writers of the 1920s traded barbs. But she gets more than she bargained for when Dorothy Parker's feisty spirit re-materializes from an ancient guestbook and hitches a ride onto her life.

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

I actually got this when I was at the Algonquin in May - I'm kind of geeked that I picked it up there.

Sounds like it could be an interesting read. It would be quite interesting to have the ghost of someone you look up to follow you around like that! Great pick.

Oooh, sounds interesting! :D I haven't heard of the author though, but I may as well check her stuff out.

I'm looking forward to a 19th century YA novel that includes mutated, human-like animals. haha.

Here's mine :)
