"Waiting On" Wednesday: Vinegar Girl

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Vinegar Girl

By Anne Tyler
Publication Date: June 21

From Amazon:

Kate Battista feels stuck. How did she end up running house and home for her eccentric scientist father and uppity, pretty younger sister Bunny? Plus, she’s always in trouble at work – her pre-school charges adore her, but their parents don’t always appreciate her unusual opinions and forthright manner.

Dr. Battista has other problems. After years out in the academic wilderness, he is on the verge of a breakthrough. His research could help millions. There’s only one problem: his brilliant young lab assistant, Pyotr, is about to be deported. And without Pyotr, all would be lost.

When Dr. Battista cooks up an outrageous plan that will enable Pyotr to stay in the country, he’s relying – as usual – on Kate to help him. Kate is furious: this time he’s really asking too much. But will she be able to resist the two men’s touchingly ludicrous campaign to bring her around?

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

Hmm, I like the cover of this one, but the vinegar doesn't sound fun to me. :-)

Vinegra Girl sounds interesting! This is my first time taking part in Waiting on Wednesday and I'm super excited!

Vinegar Girl sounds like it could be pretty good or a bit cheesy. Maybe a bit of both? I might see if the library has it when it is released.

Thank you for sharing your WoW with us. :)

This is on my list. I love that these different authors are "reinterpreting" different Shakespeare titles!

This sounds like an intriguing book! Thanks for sharing!

It almost sounds like it could be a period piece, but pre-schoolers sounds contemporary... very unusual! Wait, Shakespeare?! What play?

The rumour was old, but effective: the บ้านสไตล์นอร์ดิก เชียงใหม่ Taiwanese were being fed "poisonous" pork imported from the US.
