"Waiting On" Wednesday: Home Front

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Home Front
By Kristin Hannah
Publication Date: January 31

From publisher:

From a distance, Michael and Joleen Zarkades seem to have it all: a solid marriage, two exciting careers, and children they adore. But after twelve years together, the couple has lost their way; they are unhappy and edging toward divorce. As a military family the notion of deployment is never out of the realm of possibility. But when it actually happens it seems to tear their already fragile family apart, sending one of them deep into harm’s way and leaving the other at home, waiting for news. When the worst happens, each must face their darkest fear and fight for the future of their family.

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

  5. While that doesn't really sound like something I'd normally be interested, it might be worth giving a shot.

I have to be in the mood for the whole "marriage in crisis" thing, but I know often times they're some of the most satisfying endings.

I'm yearning for three books (really more, but three for now, lol)

Kristin Hannah writes some good books. I read one long ago that featured a not quite perfect leading man - best romance style I've read in a while. :)

  36. Wow this sounds good. Being in a marriage with someone always away is hard enough, but it it is true love then sometimes you have to fight for it. I haven't been married long going on 3 years but me and my husband have been together going on 9. We were apart for 8 months one time and it was so hard. I can't imagine doing that all the time. I know though that marriage is wonderful but you do have to work at it. So this book sounds like they have to decide if it is worth fighting for, and that means the fighting is more closer to home.

My pick this week is Flame of Surrender by Rhiannon Paille. Sounds like the first in what will be a pretty epic fantasy series.
