"Waiting On" Wednesday: One Last Thing Before I Go

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

One Last Thing Before I Go
By Jonathan Tropper
Publication Date: August 21

From Amazon:

Silver has begun to accept that life isn’t going to turn out as he expected. His ex-wife is about to marry a terrific guy Silver can’t quite bring himself to hate. And his Princeton-bound teenage daughter Casey has just confided in him that she’s pregnant—because he’s the one she cares least about letting down.

With the wedding looming and Casey in crisis, this broken family struggles, bonds, and comes together only to risk damaging each other even more. Lives begin anew, change radically, or in Silver’s case—as he discovers that he could die at any moment without an operation he refuses to have—may be about to end in an instant.

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

  4. I always learn about such depressing books whenever I come here, haha. It's good though, because I probably wouldn't push myself to read them as much otherwise.

"because he’s the one she cares least about letting down"... Ouch.

    Thanks for the intro!

  7. I really like the description and the choice for this week. Books like this as well as a Mitch Albom or Shelli Johnson are the kinds of human stories I like to read in between the epic fantasy and sci-fi I generally prefer. Sounds like a great book that will leave you thinking a bit.
