"Waiting On" Wednesday: Separate Beds

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Separate Beds
By Elizabeth Buchan
Publication Date: January 24

From the author's Web site:

Tom and Annie's children have grown up, the mortgage is doable and they're about to get kitchen make-over. Life is good-or so it seems. Beneath the veneer of professional success and domestic security, their marriage is crumbling, eaten away by years of resentment, loneliness, and misunderstandings, and they've settled into simply being two strangers living under the same roof. Until the economy falls apart, and suddenly their lives are upended when Tom loses his job. As their world shrinks, Tom and Annie are forced closer together. For the first time in years, their home is filled with people, conversation, tears - and laughter. Is it possible, they ask themselves, to start again?

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

Sounds rather depressing but if the writing is good I could read it. I'll watch for the reviews.

This sounds like a keeper! :) Funny that I just say Couples Retreat and the story is also about a marriage that may be on the verge of falling apart, but wants not to.

I am liking the premise and since there are many people who go through something similar it might be good reading for the masses of us old married folk!

This one isn't quite my cup of tea. As I'm still single I don't quite get into stories about married couples like this. But for what it is, it sounds like a good read.

this sounds depressing and uplifting both at the same time.
