Weekend Cooking: FOUR New Southern Cookbooks!

Ninety percent of my sizable cookbook collection is Southern, ranging from local church cookbooks to ones penned by culinary icons. So, I was understandably excited to see four new Southern cookbooks coming out this fall, including this first one, by one of my favorite food bloggers:

Just the cover alone on My Southern Food made me salivate. I'd love to see this cookbook's index of recipes!

I must say I have zero southern cookbooks.
well, it was zero until I bought one, an old Southern one from a Time-Life series, at a used book sale recently, but I haven't checked it out yet.
I love cookbooks and especially church cookbooks! They always have the best recipes!
Yummy! They all look good, but the one that appeals to me the most is Second Helpings!
These all look good. The only real southern cookbooks in my collection are Junior League cookbooks I've picked up while on vacation.
makes me want to go and browse the cookbook shelves and look at the southern books and see what types of ingredients they use.
Thank you so much for blogging about my new book. The recipes are indeed mouth-watering, but my real cooking credit goes to my mama and mawmaw, Patricia Walker Ford and Cora Walker. Some of the recipes include Smokin' Bag Brisket, Creamy Dill New Potatoes, Just-A-Swingin' Chocolate Pie, and Hello Dolly Bars. Party Peas are a true Mama-original. Early peas with cream, a smattering of cheddar and paprika...and they are the best thing in the WORLD!!!! Songwriter Kim McLean is also creating a "soundtrack for the perfect southern meal" that you can preview on Youtube by searching "Sweet Tea - Kim McLean".
