"Waiting On" Wednesday: First You Try Everything

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

First You Try Everything
By Jane McCafferty
Publication Date: January 17

From HarperCollins:

Evvie and Ben used to love popular music. Songs were able to get them through anything in their early years together, but now there is a gulf between them. Ben started wearing a suit, and it no longer looks like a costume; he is forgetting the years when they worked a foodcart, selling Middle Eastern meals so they could get home by three and focus on their dreams. Now Evvie has lost sight of herself and Ben has set his sights on a different kind of future–alone.  Convinced that Ben can’t let her go, Evvie begins to unravel at the seams, obsessively devising ways to staunch the inevitable separation. Told from Ben and Evvie’s alternating points of view, First You Try Everything is an intimate portrait of a marriage, examining questions of love, sanity, and the lengths we go through to avoid facing ourselves.
