"Waiting On" Wednesday: Commonwealth

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Commonwealth

By Ann Patchett

Publication Date: September 13

From Amazon:

One Sunday afternoon in Southern California, Bert Cousins shows up at Franny Keating’s christening party uninvited. Before evening falls, he has kissed Franny’s mother, Beverly—thus setting in motion the dissolution of their marriages and the joining of two families. Spanning five decades, Commonwealth explores how this chance encounter reverberates through the lives of the four parents and six children involved. Spending summers together in Virginia, the Keating and Cousins children forge a lasting bond that is based on a shared disillusionment with their parents and the strange and genuine affection that grows up between them.

What's your "waiting on" pick this week?

This week I'm waiting on a female anti-hero retelling of Vlad the Impaler with heads rolling, bodies being impaled, and hearts being broken! Check it out here.

I definitely want to read this latest from Ann. I have heard good things about it.

The book looks really good, especially for some summer reading.

This is not a new book (in fact I snagged it from Amazon Kindle via BookBub either free or for 99 cents) but I read The Good Goodbye by Carla Buckley which is nice summer read. I think it might be a YA book, but it has a well constructed story line and decent character development

Feel free to delete this post!
