Sunday Salon: Calling for Vacation Suggestions

I spent my reading time this week finishing America America (review here), which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I'm currently reading What Happened to Anna K., and it's off to a good start. It's looks like a quick read, so expect a review (probably) tomorrow.

Okay, now to the heart of the post. I'm leaving later this week for a long-weekend beach vacation, and I need help with my reading material. Here's what I have on hand:

Babylon Rolling by Amanda Boyden

Jill, I just finished Somebody Else's Daughter a few days ago. My review is HERE. It will definitely hold your attention on vacation - very hard to put down once you start it!

Whatever you choose to read, have FUN on vacation!

Ok, now I can't get the song "Don't You Forget About Me" out of my head! That's ok, I always liked it.

Sorry I can't help you with any of these titles. Have a lovely time on vacation.

Hi, Jill....hope you have a great time at the beach. Here is my opinionated opinion LOL

I never liked New Orleans and a book about it (or one set in modern day NOLA for that matter) would not interest me. The one that is a memoir - well, she sounds like someone very privileged, so the picture she paints of the city in recovery would not be very authentic for the average person.

Brundage's book sounds too heavy for the beach. And I do not intentionally read books with some of those topics in them.

The Romantics - been there, done that.

Which leaves the one where the ditched wife goes back home again. Sounds familiar, too. Yeah, you can't go home again! LOL

Are your books ones you have purchased or from the library?

I haven't read any of these either. I look forward to hearing what you decided to read. I'm always looking for good summer reads.
